Meet Our Staff

Susan Mullins

DBC, BCBC, Director/Counselor

Susan joined our staff in September 2000. She came to the Center having had 21 years of experience in directing administrative management within the public sector. She successfully supervised all areas of management for a region of stores with over 120 employees, helping them with the day-to-day routine of operations and problems facing employees. She left the business world in 2000 to follow God’s call upon her life to minister to God’s people. She received her diploma in Biblical Counseling from the Light University and her board certification through the International Board of Christian Counselors. Susan’s counseling ministry includes working with couples and individuals dealing with such issues as; areas of spiritual concerns & growth, marital & family conflict, communication problems, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, anger management, grief, stress, and divorce recovery. A large portion of her ministry has been in the area of marital infidelity & the recovery process, pornography and sexual addictions. She has a passion for God’s Word and has spent the last 25 years “Studying to show herself approved unto God…” (2 Timothy 2:15). It is her heart’s desire to impart those Truths to the wounded and struggling, allowing God to give hope and bring healing to hurting lives and families. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She and her husband Paul have been married for 50+ years.

Marla S. Freeman

M.A., Counselor/Co-Director

Marla joined our staff part-time in June 2009. In November 2013, she felt God calling her to step away from her job of 23 years as Program Director with the TN Baptist Children’s Homes, and came on as a Full-time Counselor/Co-Director. She graduated from ETSU in 1990 with a Bachelor of Social Work and again in 1995 with a Master’s in Counseling. During her career, she has had the opportunity to work at Woodridge Psychiatric Hospital, she has served as Adjunct Faculty at Northeast State Community College, and also as a Home study Coordinator for America World Adoption Association.  Currently, Marla works with clients from ages Middle school to adults with all issues, specifically involving adolescence, parenting, divorce, co-parenting and other adult issues. It is her deep desire to help all her clients come to understand who they are in God’s eyes and how they can find long-lasting Biblical answers during life’s toughest battles.

Sunday Greer

M.A.

Sunday joined our staff on a part-time basis in March of 2007. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration with honors and a major in Marketing from the University of Tennessee. Her M.A. in Counseling with School, Community Agency, and Higher Education concentrations is from East Tennessee State University.  She completed training as a prayer counselor for Neil Anderson’s Freedom in Christ Conferences and began a networking organization for Christian singles in the Raleigh area. After much prayer and seeking God’s will, she decided in 2003 to pursue further education, a new career and direction in her life. During this time she worked as a graduate assistant and counselor at the ETSU Counseling Center. At the center at ETSU, she served as the alcohol and other drug program coordinator and was a member of the Alcohol and Other Drug Task Force and the Alcohol Awareness Task Force for Athletes.  She now works as a high school counselor in the Tennessee school system with a Masters Degree.

She is also trained and has served for multiple years as a volunteer lay counselor through the Stephen Ministry. Her counseling focus includes, contemporary women’s issues, teens, and college-age females dealing with areas of anxiety, self-image, depression, anger management, grief, stress, self-harm, spiritual concerns, and other issues. Sunday is a member of the American Counseling Association and Tennessee Counseling Association.
